Job Title: Product Manager - Speciality Nutrients
Job Purpose :
- Conduct Market Research – Identify customer needs and industry trends.
- Manage Product Lifecycle – Oversee development, launch, and performance of new and existing Products.
- Collaborate Across Teams – Coordinate with R&D, sales, and marketing team for better product performances.
- Optimize Performance – Analyze data to improve product profitability and overall impact.
Key Accountibilities:
Market Analysis Research & Product Development
- Conduct in-depth market research to understand customer needs, agricultural trends, and competitor offerings.
- Identify gaps and opportunities in the market for new or improved fertilizer products.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to design and develop innovative fertilizers that address market needs and comply with sustainability goals.
- Evaluate new technologies and advancements to enhance product efficiency, Eco-friendliness, and cost-effectiveness.
Product Life cycle & Pricing / Positioning Strategy
- Oversee the entire product life cycle, from idealization and launch to growth, maturity, and eventual phase-out.
- Ensure products are continuously optimized to meet changing customer needs and market demands.
- Develop and implement competitive pricing strategies to maximize profitability and market share.
- Position products effectively in the market through targeted branding and differentiation.
Sales Collaboration
- Work closely with sales and extension teams to create promotional campaigns, product training materials, and technical guides for customers.
- Provide support for sales teams in communications and product demonstrations.
Supply Chain and Distribution Coordination
- Collaborate with supply chain & plant teams to have insights on availability and timely delivery of products to distributors and customers.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Analyze sales data, market share, and customer feedback to assess product performance.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management with recommendations for improvement.
Budget and Resource Management
- Manage product budgets effectively, ensuring optimal use of resources for development, marketing, and distribution activities.
Relevant & total years of experience and behavioral attributes :
- MBA or a specialized degree in Product Management, Marketing, or Agribusiness.
- Experience in the Nutrients marketing and development is highly desirable.
- Strong business acumen and ability to align marketing strategies with business objectives.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager in the fertilizer industry, with 10-15 years of experience.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google workspace and market research tools.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of marketing principles and strategies.
